The Daikin AFVALVE1 is a 1" anti-freeze valve designed to protect air source heat pump (ASHP) systems from frost damage. Automatically opening at around 3 °C and closing near 4 °C, it drains residual water to prevent freezing in low temperatures. Constructed from durable brass and rated to 10 bar pressure, it’s ideal for use in glycol-free systems. Two valves are typically recommended per heat pump for effective protection. Compatible with Daikin Altherma units and other outdoor ASHP installations, it offers a simple, passive safeguard against freeze-related issues during power loss or severe weather. View less
