Description

The Wyndam UFH Aluminium Joist Plate 390 x 1000mm @ 150mm Centres is a grooved aluminium heat spreader plate for wet underfloor heating in traditional timber joisted floors. It is fixed to the top of the joists and sits in between them, flush with the underside of the floor deck, with grooves at 150mm centres to hold 16mm x 2mm pipe.

When the pipe warms up, the heat spreads evenly across the aluminium plate and through the structural floor deck into the room, delivering 62 W/m² at a 45 degree flow temperature (based on a tog rating of 1 and a room temperature of 21 degrees). Insulation is installed below the plates, keeping the air gap between the plate and the insulation to a minimum for efficient heat transfer.

Applications


  • • Timber Joists: For traditional wooden joisted floors only.

Installation Guidance


  • • Fixing: Secure the plate to the top of the joists. Plates should not touch each other.

  • • Insulation: Lay a minimum of 25mm insulation between the joists, offset 17mm from the top of the joist, to minimise the air gap below the plate.

  • • Pipe Routing: Notch a 20mm square from the top of the joist to allow pipework to pass through.

  • • Pipe: Designed for 16mm x 2mm underfloor heating pipe.
